I lost $10,000 on my cleaning business learning these three things. The last one actually that changed my business, so stay till the end. Number one, I used to think that I needed to spend a lot of money just to get clients. Just throw the cash, throw the money, and then hope the right people see me. That's not what worked. What worked was figuring out exactly who I wanted to work with. For me, it was busy parents and other entrepreneurs, the ones who don't have time to clean. And only then putting the money behind ads. When I actually started to see more money coming in, and those are the people that I could start to charge more. I wasn't trying to be everyone's cleaner anymore, so it worked out perfectly. Number two, I've had clients where something in me said, take and I took the client anyway. Every single time, it was the same pattern. Negotiated price even before they did the job, they nitpick everything that my team did. They complained, just to complain. And then I ended up refunding them. I should have never booked them in the first place. Now when I see that pattern, I walk away from that money because it's not worth the money. I'll make money somewhere else with a better customer. And number three, this is actually the most important one, the one that actually changed my business. So for a while, I was running info, scheduling payments across like three, four, five different platforms, costing me money and mistakes. Time. To switch to one system that had everything, client info, credit cards, scheduling, tracking my crew with every job. That was probably one of the biggest things that helped my business. I'm not saying go use the exact one that I use. What I'm saying is stop running your business across five different apps. Just pick one and put everything into it. I use Jobber.
