I got this awesome 7-quart KitchenAid stand mixer for Christmas 12 years ago I've never really loved the color. Then a couple years ago, I saw the launch of that green mixer with the wood bowl, remember that one? But the one I have is larger and I just didn't have the to go buy a new stand mixer just for an aesthetic change So I decided just to paint my own I forgot to film the first step, which is to unscrew and remove everything you can from the mixer Then tape everything off really well that you can't unscrew, Then I took some 120 grit sandpaper and removed the glossy finish so the spray paint can really adhere Next, I selected this amazing matte olive color by Krylon as my base, and it's really close to my inspiration After applying three coats and allowing it to dry between coats, I hit any rough spots or blemishes with a 220 grit sandpaper I then finished with a couple coats of matte top coat by Rustoleum on, I had a last minute idea to wrap that metal band with some copper tape I had to accent the copper mixing bowl that I'm going to attach to it I was a bit nervous to take on this project, but I'm so glad I did And now I'm just removing the tape and screwing everything back on And this stand mixer may be lacking the wood bowl from my original inspiration, but what it does have is this amazing copper bowl I've had instead, which is even cooler if you ask me and here's what it looks like with the stainless steel bowl I love the two-tone metals and the overall finished product No regrets and absolutely amazing
