This Alocasia Regal Shield has been growing in this cup for four months… and I definitely waited a little too long to repot it. It grew so much that I had to stack another cup on top just to give the leaves more room. For this repot, I decided to try something a little different. Instead of my usual mix, I combined Fluval Stratum with pea gravel. Yes, the same pea gravel people use for landscaping. Will it work? Probably, I don’t see why it wiuldnt. Only time will tell, but that’s one of my favorite parts of growing plants. Sometimes you learn the most by trying something new.
