POV: Steel Beach Picnic & Swim Call on a Navy Aircraft Carrier

Hey guys, so get ready with me because today we're gonna be having a Steel Beach picnic and swim call aboard a US Navy aircraft carrier. So let's get ready. So once I throw on some comfortable clothes, grab everything I need for the day, I start make my way up to the flight deck. And as soon as I get top side, you can already tell today is just different. Everyone's smiling, waving, and just enjoying a well-deserved break. So what exactly is a Steel Beach picnic? Well, it's a long-standing Navy tradition where during extended time at sea when conditions are safe, the flight deck is transformed into a giant morale event. It's a chance for the crew to unwind, relax, and enjoy a few hours away from the norm of deployment. We've got burgers, hot dogs fresh off the grill, games set up over the flight deck, music blasting, sailors dancing. I even got the opportunity to meet our boat's command master chief, which was pretty awesome. And he's actually a fan of my videos. The day isn't over yet because now it's time for swim call. And if you've never heard of it, swim call is another Navy tradition where when the conditions are just right, sailors get the rare opportunity to jump into the open ocean from the ship under carefully controlled conditions with safety boats and rescue swimmers standing by. It's definitely something that does not happen often. Three, two, one, jump! After taking it all in, I swim to the back of the ship, climb back aboard, and just try to process how insane that experience was. Stay salty shipmates!
