POV: Shore Patrol in Hawaii

What's up guys? Get ready with me for my Shore Patrol watch. Finally rolled out of bed at around 16:24. I had boss duty all night before so sleeping in was definitely earned. First things first, protein shake. Gotta get something in for the long night. And then the usual routine. Floss, brush my teeth, mouthwash, and then get dressed. And now it's time to get off the ship. Now before getting off the ship, I of course then attend attention and request permission to go ashore. And once I step onto the brow, I stop, render honors to the flag before continuing on. One quick stop at the pop-up next to grab a snack for later on. And then it's on my way to the shuttle bus. That'll take us from the ship to Waikiki. Once I'm there, I'll muster. And now it's time to assume my watch. If you've never heard of shore patrol, our job is basically to maintain good order and discipline while sailors are out enjoying liberty. We assist sailors if they need help, respond to incidents, and make sure that everyone stays out of trouble. We'll be here until 4 in the morning. And honestly, shore patrol isn't that bad when your office looks like this. And after a quick lunch break, it was right back to roving. Luckily, our night was pretty uneventful, except for when we helped an overly intoxicated sailor get back to the ship safely. And we did run into this guy who was absolutely shredding on the guitar, 10 out of 10 performance. What a night of shore patrol and Waikiki looks like. Stay salty shipmates.
