Forget cake with your coffee, this new North East café is serving warm bowls of crumble instead and I am obsessed! This is Crumb on Park View in Whitley Bay, a brand new coffee and crumble café serving everything from classic fruit crumbles to breakfast and savoury crumbles and, I kid you not, they even do a Sunday dinner crumble! The café is gorgeous, with a minimal design, handmade wooden counter, window seats perfect for people watching and plenty of cosy tables. For my first visit I of course had to go classic! You can choose from homemade Apple & Cinnamon or Mixed Berry, topped with their handcrafted crumble which is naturally gluten-free. Then choose hot or cold custard, double cream or ice cream, and load it up with extras including Biscoff crumb, toasted marshmallows, meringue and rose petals. And it doesn't stop at dessert! You can start your day with a Breakfast Crumble, there's a regularly changing Savoury Crumble, and then there's that Sunday Dinner Crumble - roasted veggies in thick gravy topped with sage and onion crumble, with the option to add a Yorkshire pudding or slowcooked pulled beef. Be honest are you sticking with a classic sweet crumble or trying the Sunday Dinner Crumble?
