Did you know that you can fly direct to Porto from @NCL Airport with @jet2 and it’s perfect for a city break. Flights are first thing on a Friday, returning on a Monday evening giving you almost four full days to explore this beautiful city. Porto ticks all the boxes for a dreamy city break. Think amazing food, colourful riversides and the most stunning views but I think what I loved the most was how friendly everyone was and how affordable it is compared to the UK. Porto is famous for its beautiful bridge, port wine, the world’s most beautiful bookshop and the stunning tiles that decorate its historic streets. From spending a day exploring the Douro Valley, to eating my body weight in pastel de nata, I loved how much there was to see and do. Some of my highlights included the incredible cloisters at Porto Cathedral, wandering the Ribeira district and riding the amazing Funicular. You can glide above the river in a cable car, explore the famous port cellars and stroll Bolhao market with a glass of wine in hand. Stepping inside the iconic Livraria Lello bookshop after seeing so many photos of it was breathtaking and have you ever visited a city park where the views make your jaw drop, peacocks and roosters wander freely and you can enjoy a margarita in the sunshine?  I told you this city is amazing!  So if you’re looking for your next city break from Newcastle, I’d say Porto is the one.  Tag some friends to start planning!
