Cancer, you can never change how much we love each other ❤️🩹 One of my biggest fears in Mochi’s cancer journey was that I wouldn’t be able to see the signs and let him go too late. I always did regular check ins with Mochi asking him if he was ready yet, and he would always respond to me physically or vocally to let me know he wasn’t ready. I never “understood” what he was saying - but I always felt it. And as long as he was still comfortable, I would follow his lead. I am so devastated, yet comforted to say that I let him go exactly when he wanted to go. And that happened to fall on a day where it felt neither too early or too late. As we went deeper into this journey, I didn’t really see his cancer anymore. Instead, I saw how much he loves me. The way I filled his cup when he was down, and how he did the same for me. He didn’t follow me around anymore, but his eyes never lost track of me wherever I went in the house. Not even on his last day. As Matthew’s and my body pressed against Mochi’s, wrapping him tightly to make sure he felt nothing but safety, I felt his last heartbeat and breath escape his body. Mochi is my everything. Our worlds are absolutely shattered. My soul is crushed. We love you infinitely, Moch. I am honoured you chose me in this lifetime. I will never know what we both did in our past lives to deserve such a special bond. My angel on earth has gained his wings 🪽 Until you’re in my arms again… remember me 🌈 #petloss #grief #dog #cancer #lymphoma
