Pet loss is often misunderstood and underestimated ❤️🩹 For many, our dogs are not “just dogs.” They are our family. They are our children. And the soul bond is undeniable. I wanted to capture to the best of my ability what it feels like. I know I’m not going through this alone. Exactly a week ago, it felt like my entire world collapsed. Now that a week has passed, I still miss him every second of every day, but the waves of grief come and go. Some moments are unbearable. Other moments, you are able to put one foot in front of another trekking forward. And that’s what grief is. Piece by piece, you learn to pick yourself back up. I will say being in tune and open to the signs Mochi has been sending me has become a huge source of comfort. Right now, I’m still in the phase where I’m obsessed with looking for signs from him. I don’t think that will change for a while. I was told to process grief, you have to allow yourself to feel every moment fully. Lean into it. Embrace it. You’ll process it your own way, and that’s okay. I am finding my way slowly, but it is difficult. Sending love to all. Thank you for letting me express my feelings so vulnerably 🥹 #petloss #grief #dog #cancer #lymphoma
