Part 5 of crocheting a life-size baby giraffe for my son’s nursery! 🦒🌱 The body is looking so good, I’m excited to start decreasing and forming the neck! 35 weeks pregnant, can I actually finish this before baby comes?! 🫪 #crochet #pregnant #jumbo I'm changing this series in parts instead of days because it's taking me multiple days to finish these videos. My main goal this past week was to start building up the body of the giraffe. Since I created the spots on the legs by color changing, I had to do the same for the body. Crocheting the body is definitely the most tedious part, and I kind of wish I made the spots separate and sewed them on at the end, but it's too late now. I make sure I stretch a lot and alternate between sitting on my desk chair and my birthing ball. I crocheted around 20 rounds and decided to see how the giraffe was looking so far. The inside looks so crazy with all the color changes. Sometimes I honestly get a jump scare looking at this footage because the bump is bumping. I slid the body back onto the giraffe's frame and that was a whole workout in itself. I'm so happy with how the giraffe is looking so far. The body is turning out exactly how I envisioned it. And of course, my cat needed to jump in it immediately and use it as a hammock again. Hopefully by next week I can start decreasing the body and start forming the neck.
