Toyota still sells this truck with a metal key and a hand-pulled antenna. The Land Cruiser 70 Series has been in production since 1984, and the LC71 hardtop is the shortest, meanest version of it. Body-on-frame. Solid axles front and rear. Part-time four-wheel drive worked by a second lever next to the shifter. The air conditioning is a knob and two sliders. The rear windows slide by hand. Toyota's own UAE showrooms list one from around $48,000, and buyers still line up because oil crews, aid fleets, and desert outfits have spent four decades proving the thing does not break. Forty years in production. Nothing added that could fail. Love Technology? Follow @gzreel Media: @mrmawater #technology #toyota #automotive #lc71 #engineering
