Why it worked
The video taps into the popular 'girl dinner' trend and seasonal comfort food cravings, making the recipe relatable and aspirational. The use of readily available supermarket ingredients (ASDA) also makes the recipe accessible to a wide audience.
Summary
The video shows the preparation of a sweet potato and chorizo soup. It begins with blending the soup, then shows the chopping of sweet potatoes, carrots, and onions, seasoning them with paprika and garlic granules, and adding chorizo to a pot. The vegetables are then roasted, added to the pot with stock cubes and broth, blended, and served with cream and chorizo topping, accompanied by buttered bread.

A STAPLE YOU ALL LOVED… IT’S SOUP SEASON AGAIN 🍂🤎 ..okay it’s not quiteee soup season just yet but it’s August & mentally I’m there🍂 One of the recipes that started my cosy comfort food era is back 🫶🏼
..Your not even ready for all the cosy meals I have planned🤎✨ SWEET POTATO & CHORIZO SOUP✨ Ingredients: (6 servings) • 4 large sweet potatoes • 4 carrots • 1 onion • 2 small bulbs garlic • Paprika • Garlic powder • Salt & pepper • 2 vegetable stock cubes • Chorizo 👩🏼🍳 1. Peel & chop your vegetables & add to your oven dish 2. Drizzle with olive oil & add all your seasonings, add your garlic bulbs with tops cut off & roast in oven for 50mins (@200) 3. fry off your chorizo & scoop out for later 4. once your veg is ready add it to the pan with your chorizo oil & add ~800ml veg stock (depends on the consistency you like, more stock = more runny/more bowls, less stock = thicker, more of a mouthful (my personal fav) 5. blendy blend & serve 6. I topped mine with cream, chilli flakes, chorizo & a crusty roll with lotsss of butter🫶🏼 #thegirldinnerdiaries #soup #soupseason #sweetpotato #comfortfood
