Hook
I was a broke overconsumer for two years while working as a nurse and living at home with my parents. So here are a couple things that I wasted my money on. Number one, buying items I already had. I have absolutely no idea why I felt the need to have so many water bottles in different colors. And it doesn't even stop there. I also bought duplicates of lunch bags. While the different color water bottles and the different styles of lunch bags are so cute, they are only supposed to serve one purpose. For example, for lunch bags, it does nothing but hold your lunch. For water bottles, it does nothing but hold your water. So now that I know what I know now, those water bottles and these lunch bags are going to be with me for life. I'm not going to get any new ones until every single last one of them is either damaged or broken. Another thing that I wasted my money on was buying trendy or cheap pieces of clothing. So this is my closet and this is after donating pieces of clothing that I no longer wore. But my entire closet is filled with clothes that I don't like or just don't feel comfortable in. If I already go back, I would build a capsule wardrobe. So things that I can repeat on a daily basis. And after I'm done paying off my student loan debt, that's exactly what I plan to do. Not only would I buy trendy clothes, I would buy for shoes. For example, these Adidas were really trendy like one or two years ago, and I don't even wear them anymore because I don't like them. And honestly, same with these new balances. When I look at everything that I bought, I don't even see it as items. I just look at it as money that I wasted. I've definitely learned the hard way when it comes to saving, budgeting and investing. And I hope I sharing my mistakes, you guys can avoid making the same ones.
