My client just launched an Ulta, so let's talk about it. I don't think I've ever shared this publicly, but I am the CFO Advisor to Soshe Beauty, which you would know if you're not living under a rock. Just had a major Ulta retail launch, which is so exciting. And to celebrate, I'm gonna be doing my face full of sushi. I'm gonna be doing my face full of sushi. Let's start with the blush. So I have three shades here, which are my absolute favourites. So you got Rosie rest, speak easy here in the middle. And this is bare Muse, going in with a little bit of bare Muse to start. And this is their blush brush as well. And then I'm gonna add just a touch of rosy rest on top to give it a little pink. It's a rainy day in New York City today. Next, I'm gonna go in with their precision eyeliner. Look how fine that is, you guys. If I can get it to focus, look how fine that is, you guys. If I can get it to focus, obviously it's been easy yet. So I advise a number of CPG. And even B to B businesses and basically come in as their CFO. And help them with all things finance. And I don't think a lot of people realise how expensive a retail launch is. And I don't think a lot of people realise how expensive a retail launch is. I'll never speak to the specifics of any of my clients, however, just at a high level. This is sort of some of the costs you can expect when launching a retail. So first and foremost are your margins. Your margins are gonna take a hit. Basically, let's say you have a mascara, you're selling it for, let's say, $25 on the internet, direct to consumer. Usually you're selling to the wholesaler at about 50% of that price. Going in with the Soshie mascara now in black. And then secondly, if you have a sale or the company has a sale, you are paying for that sale. The retailer likes to keep their margin at, let's say, 50, 60%. So any additional discount coming off of your products to consumers, you're paying for that. Next, I have the lip liner in Speak Easy. Other major class costs include the display. So the pretty shelving and pictures and all of that. Those are pricey. Another cost is your field team. You basically have employees working boots on the ground for you. Then I have their lipstick and I'm going in with the shade boule. Also, you have to pay for returns and damages if you have any of them. Look how pretty that is. And the list goes on. The point is, when you have a major retail expansion, it's super expensive. Not only from that point, obviously, you have to pay for all of the inventory that you're selling. So the working capital means that you need ahead of time because your retailers are not gonna be paying you up front. You have to pay for that inventory first. It's important that you have somebody who knows how to manage cash flow, who knows how to estimate these costs so that you're prepared and you have a successful launch.
