Here's an early look at the iPhone Ultra, which is going to be Apple's first ever folding phone. It's going to have two different displays. The outer one is going to be 5.5 inches. And when you open it up, you get a much larger 7.8 inch square form factor, which Apple has never done before. It's also going to be the thinnest Apple product ever. When unfolded, it's going to measure in at just about 4.5 mm, which is significantly thinner than all current iPhones. Some rumors say that Apple's even found a way to eliminate the crease on the middle of the screen, which is the problem with all other folding phones and it would definitely make Apple's offering different. But there will be some big compromises because it's so thin, there's not enough room for face ID. So Apple's going back to a touch ID fingerprint scanning system placed in the power button like on an iPad. And on the back there's only two lenses unlike the triple camera setup that we currently have on Pro iPhones. iPhone Ultra is rumored to drop in September of 2026 and for that much money even with a new form factor, would you buy a square foldable iPhone, which is significantly thinner than all current iPhones.
