Classic chrome Summer chrome So why So why does everyone suddenly love Summer Chrome? Let's break down that recipe. Dialed in: Ep. 2 Breaking down summer chrome Welcome to Episode 2 of Dialed in where I'm breaking down some Fujifilm concepts. Summer Chrome isn't its own film simulation. It's built off of Classic Chrome. So Classic Chrome by itself is more muted with deeper shadows and kinda gives you that documentary photography feel. A lot of the time when I shoot it, it kinda falls a little bit flat. Which is why I really love Summer Chrome. Summer Chrome has some tweaks over Classic Chrome which bring back the warmer white balance, grain, pulled back shadows, pulls more reds. Summer chrome: warmer WB, grain, pulled back shadows, pulls more reds kind of like you're shooting in golden hour. It also really highlights the warmth and redness in your photos. I'm a warm girly, so I love having my photos bring back those warm tones and kind of feels like a hug over your photographs. Because the clarity is tweaked a little bit on this film recipe, it can slow down the processing time on your camera. So if you're moving quickly and taking photos in a lot of bursts, this might not be the film simulation for you. Tip: change clarity setting to 0 and using a black mist diffusion filter to help bring back some of that grain. Tip: OR change your shooting mode to CL Another tip that I like to do is switching from single shot mode to CL and I find that speeds up the processing time when using this film recipe.
