The two most important joints for your face are your TMJ and your head-neck joint. When your jaw isn’t functioning optimally, the muscles around it have to compensate. An unbalanced bite, reduced tooth support, limited joint movement, or altered breathing and swallowing patterns can all increase tension in the jaw, temples, neck, and face. Over time, that tension may even become painful. This technique is designed to help relax those overworked muscles and may provide relief from muscular tension around the jaw. However, if your TMJ clicks, locks, catches, or causes persistent pain, please don’t ignore it. Those are signs that should be evaluated by a dentist or TMJ specialist. Manual techniques can support the muscles, but they cannot replace proper assessment and treatment of the joint itself. A beautiful jawline starts with a healthy jaw. 💛 Save this tutorial to help relax your jaw muscles, and if you’re experiencing clicking or pain, make an appointment with your dentist.
