1 lb ground beef (80/20) 1 lb mild Italian sausage 2-3 tsp McCormick hamburger seasoning or Montreal steak seasoning 2 tsp Italian seasoning 2 tsp onion soup mix 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp smoked paprika 1/2 tsp pepper 1 1/4 cup Italian breadcrumbs 2 eggs, beaten 2/3 cup milk 1/2 onion, grated (save the remaining half of the onion and slice it, this will be for the gravy) Mix and combine well Wet hands and form meatballs (This recipe yields about 21-27 large meatballs) Sear meatballs on both sides on medium high heat (do not cook all the way thru yet. They’ll finish cooking in the gravy) Remove and set aside. Do not drain the pan drippings. Add 3 Tbsp butter 1/2 onion, sliced 2 tsp beef bouillon paste 1 Tbsp minced garlic 3 Tbsp flour 2 1/2 cups water The rest of the onion soup mix Season to taste with pepper, garlic & onion powder, Italian seasoning. This may or may not need more salt, but taste and add a pinch if you prefer. Add meatballs back into the gravy. Cover and simmer on medium heat for 20-25 minutes/until cooked thoroughly. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes. #salisburysteakmeatballs #salisburysteak #homemademeatballs #meatballs #simplerecipe Salisbury steak meatballs Homemade meatballs Meatballs and gravy Salisbury steak recipe
