One of the many harms of Bioessentialism is that it takes socially conditioned and taught behaviors that we have full autonomy and control over (SA, cheating, manipulation, abuse, etc…) and it wrongfully labels these behaviors as biological, evolutionary, and genetic. Therefore if men are biologically, evolutionarily, and genetically driven to be bad and commit harmful acts, why should they change? How can we really expect them to? They can’t help it as much as a dog can’t help but to kick up it’s urine… right? But by recognizing and rightfully assigning these decisions to informed and aware choices that these men are making, then, and only then, can they be held responsible and accountable for their actions. Because these actions are choices. If a man is bad it’s because he chooses to be bad. If a man is good it’s because he chooses to be good. I will not remove the element of choice because that absolves men from the harmful decisions they make, as well as women. Assigning human behavior to the wrong driving factors and mechanisms becomes dangerous and is extremely irresponsible. #feminism #womenempowermenr #bioessentialism #biology #evolution
