Why it worked
The video likely resonated due to the dramatic hook and the subversion of expectations, presenting a potentially dangerous situation (being led by armed individuals into a jungle) as an adventurous exploration rather than a kidnapping. The visual journey through the unique landscape and the discovery of a sacred site also contribute to its engaging nature.

YES, we completely trusted them. This is NOT what it looks like Nigeria… 😳🇳🇬 Two white guys, two Nigerian boys carrying a gun while leading us deep into the jungle of Enugu. No signal. No idea where we’re going. We were staying at a monastery in rural Enugu when we heard about Awhum Waterfall. At first we thought, “Easy, we’ll just walk there ourselves.” Absolutely NO chance! To visit Awhum waterfall you need a local guide that shows you the way. 😂 Our local guides took us through dense jungle, into and through the water, past a shrine hidden in the middle of nowhere and eventually through an increasingly narrow cave system filled with bats. Are you ready for an epic travel adventure in Nigeria then put Enugu on your list of places to visit. The Awhum waterfall is one of the best things to do in Nigeria! 😍🇳🇬 #enugu #traveling #nigeria
