FIVE WHERE NOT AI is not taking over and what each one pays in 2026. Everybody keeps telling you that AI is about to wipe out tech jobs. This is completely untrue. They're peddling false garbage. And if you're trying to break into IT, this is the list you build your next two years around. Save this video so you can come back to it. Let's go. Number one, CYBERSECURITY. AI SECURITY. These folks make $70,000 a year starting out and clear $200K easily. Not bad. The cybersecurity game has become a good guy AI against the bad guy AI. And somebody has to decide which. For this career path, your first move is to stand up a free seam in a virtual environment and point it at your own traffic. One weekend of figuring this out beats a month of course videos. Number two, CLOUD ENGINEERS. Making $85,000 to $170,000 a year. They run the environments that every company hosts its apps in. And listen, cloud stuff breaks, man. It breaks in ways that need a human who knows what the business actually needs if you want to go down this path. Is Azure or AWS free tier, one VM, one virtual network by hand. Don't use a setup wizard. Do it the hard way one time. This will position you to actually get into this space. And you'll thank me later. Number three, LINUX SYSADMIN. $85,000 up to a little past $200,000 a year. What nobody wants to say out loud. All of the AI infrastructure is built on Linux. A job, who's going to stand up the boxes that the AI runs on first? Install Ubuntu Server, no GUI, and force yourself to do everything from the terminal. Number four, EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER. These are some cool jobs. They start out about $80,000 a year and the top people clear $260,000. These people write software that runs on phones, cars, medical equipment, drones, power grids, basically everything out there. And when the failure mode is somebody dies, a human being signs off on that code. This is not changing in the next decade. Your first move if you want to go down this path is a $30 ESP32 and make it do one physical thing in the real world. Number five, my lane. NETWORK ENGINEER. Starts out about $60,000 a year. Average tops out around $180,000 a year. And the guys running their own shops go well past that. AI itself cannot run a network. Nothing runs without a functioning network. You are seeing my face and hearing my voice right now because the network engineer built the infrastructure to make it happen. Your first move if you want to become a network engineer, build the homelab projects, don't just watch videos. This is not a hobby you do. Spend months in this job.
