What to put on your Ventoy Disk

You don't need to carry multiple thumb drives. One thumb drive should replace every other thumb drive in your bag. If you saw my Ventoy video, that's the part that makes it possible. You can drop as many ISO files on one stick as will fit and pick which ones you wanna boot from on demand. This is the part I didn't cover in that video. What actually belongs on your Ventoy disk? Here are the five that I'd put on every stick and every one of them is completely free. Number one, MEMTEST86. This one boots outside of Windows and hammers your RAM, looking for bad memory. Here's why it matters. Bad RAM does not announce itself. It just shows up as random crashes, files that corrupt for no reason, a machine that bluescreens once a week and passes every other test you throw at it. Let this one run overnight and you either have your answer or you've eliminated that RAM problem. That alone is worth the space on your disc. Number two, Clonezilla. This is free disk imaging and cloning. Boot it and you can clone an entire drive to another full network or pull a full image off of a network machine. It's also the thing that turns I hope this works into an actual rollback plan. The third one is GParted. This is partition surgery. Move, resize, move, partition, recover a partition without wiping the disk. When Windows disk utility just tells you no, GParted will just do it. If somebody's drive is full and there's unallocated sitting parted, no. Number four, Medicat. This is an enormous Windows toolkit that boots off of the stick. Password tools, scanners, malware scanners, disk utilities, all of it in one environment. If you watch my Hiren's video, this is the bigger, more modern Hiren's cousin to Hiren's. When the machine won't boot Windows at all, you boot into this and you get to work. Number five, System Rescue. Is Linux test disk and PhotoRec pulls drives completely on. People's this told gone, I can testify it works. If you do this with a slow thumb drive, you'll be hating life. Get a fast drive. It changes everything, especially a booting live environment. So get a good quality, high speed drive, for your Ventoy disk and save this video and go build that drive.
