Not every ear can take every piercing BUT why? The end result will be a disastrous healing journey and even a migrating and rejecting piercing! ❌ I turn away about 1 in 3 forward helix requests, and it’s not because I’m being fussy or I can’t be bothered doing my job. Some ears are thick and deep-set, built to hold curved jewellery without a fight. Others are thin and flat, and forcing a piercing in anyway just sets it up to migrate, thin out, or reject months down the line. I’d rather tell you that in the consult than watch you deal with it at month four and have a bad experience. So now every new piercing here starts with an actual anatomy check, not just a sharpie dot and a “looks fine.” If I say no to a placement, it’s because I want the piercing you end up with to still be there in five years, not five months.
