if I had some fresh money to invest in the Nigerian stock market today, these are the five Nigerian stocks that I would consider buying in this month of August. I won't consider buying these stocks because they are cheap, no. Rather I would consider buying these stocks because these are stocks of great companies that has a potential to deliver value for the long term. And please mind you that this is not an investment advice. So do well to carry out your research and then you make an informed decision before you go ahead to buy any of these stocks. The stocks are not in any particular order. The very first one is Aradel Holdings Plc. Aradel is a company in the oil and gas sector in the Nigerian stock market and this company is into production of crude oil, natural gas and energy infrastructure. And since oil and gas is a major contributor to Nigeria's economy, Aradel is playing in a sector that is going to be relevant for the long term. So if you are looking for long term exposure in the Nigerian oil and gas sector, then Aradel is a company worth investing in. No. 2 is Zenith Bank. If you have been investing in the Nigerian stock market for a while, I am very sure you've heard about Zenith Bank. Zenith Bank is one of the largest and most profitable banks in Nigeria. And this bank offers her banking services to individuals, businesses and large organizations. Basically the bank makes money through loans, digital banking, trade finance and other financial services. One thing I love about Zenith Bank is that this bank has been consistent with delivering profit and also paying dividend to their investors. Zenith Bank has been paying dividend consistently to their investors for over 20 years now. And this is one reason why many investors in the Nigerian stock market like to hold this particular stock for the long term. No. 3 is Presco. When many people talk about investing in the Nigerian stock market, they hardly mention the agricultural sector. Meanwhile, this sector also controls a major part of Nigeria's economy because everyday people are demanding for food products and other daily consumables of agricultural commodities. So Presco is a company in the consumer goods sector in the Nigerian stock market and basically they are into production of palm oil. This company has its own palm oil plantation and they are fully involved in the production and processing of palm oil. I love this company is because this company produces a product that is being used every single day because everyday people are making use of it to cook food in their homes and companies make use of it to produce things like soap, cosmetics and other daily used items. The fifth stock is PZ Cussons. Even though you've never heard of this company before, it is very possible that you've used one or two of their products in your life. PZ Cussons is a company that produces products that are being used by millions of homes in Nigeria. PZ Cussons produces products like Premier soap, Money, Fresh Imperial Leather and so many others. These are daily products that have been used by millions of homes in Nigeria. Many Nigerians have actually come to trust this particular brand and once people trust your brand and your product, it is very easy for them to keep buying from you over and over again. And provided people are consistently patronizing this particular brand, it means that this company will continue to make money. And once they are able to make money, it means that investors will also be able to make money because as the value of the company grows, the value of your investment in this company will also continue to grow. And finally at No. 5 is Dangote Cement. I am sure this company doesn't need any further introduction. Dangote Cement is a company in the industrial sector in the Nigerian stock market. Listen, people are complaining about the economy, people are still building new houses every single day. Estates are being developed on a daily basis. And apart from that, if you look around you, you'll notice that roads are being repaired and bridges are also being constructed. All of these projects depends heavily on one major material, cement. And Dangote is into production of cement. As a matter of fact, they are the largest producer of cement in Nigeria and also one of the biggest in Africa. Dangote Cement actually sells a product that is high in demand. Even though you've never used Dangote cement before, it is very possible you are living in a house that was built with Dangote cement or you make use of a road that was constructed with Dangote cement. Dangote Cement to expand its operation to other parts of Africa and that has given this company a presence beyond Nigeria. This company is also consistent when it comes to paying dividend to their investors. That for me is one reason why I would consider buying this particular stock. So, these are the 5 Nigerian stocks I would consider buying in this month of August if I had some fresh money. Now, how exactly can you invest in these stocks?
