Pov your autistic son was overstimulated & bit you 😥🧩
I just got bit so bad.
We're currently at Carter's and the teacher, Kylo is not having it. Look at what you did. Why did you do that? Why did you bite mommy? That hurts. That's owie. You need to have safe hands, safe mouth. What? I know it's loud, I know it's overstimulating, but you cannot bite. We cannot go bye-bye because we have to finish. He definitely just wants to leave right now, but I'm trying to walk him around. I left Carter's in the classroom with the teacher because she knows he's on a stim and he was not having it. I literally want to cry. I'm trying to hold it together. Are you trying to give me kisses now? Look. What? I know it's loud, I know it's overstimulating, but you cannot bite. We cannot go bye-bye because we have to finish. Heavenly Father, we pray that you cover him. We pray for your peace, comfort him. And I pray that you would help him, help him to regulate his emotions. Help him to not have meltdowns or overstimulate him. Help him to regulate his emotions and give him your peace in this moment. God, we love you and we pray in Jesus name. Amen. It's okay, bud. It's okay.

When my son‘s nervous system is overwhelmed, and he can’t regulate or communicate his feelings, I always make sure to pray with him. Autism parenting isn’t always easy. I know i get lots of judgement of how I handle meltdowns but there is no perfect way to do this. Im trying my best. There are going to be hard moments, and moments that leave me emotionally exhausted. But those moments don’t define my son. They remind me how important patience, grace, and understanding are. We’re learning together, one day at a time. And I’ll keep choosing to reflect my faith & love, even on the hardest days. 💙🧩 #autism #autismawareness #specialneeds
