I've been absolutely obsessed with gut health for probably the past three years now. Here's everything I know in less than a minute. Also, watch me go from this little cookie monster to this. Your GI tract is over 28 feet long. A lot of people don't realize how big it is. And within this 28 feet, you have an ecosystem of parasites, fungus, bacteria. None of these things are necessarily good or bad, but when you get imbalances due to the modern American diet, high processed foods, sugar, you can get these imbalances. You also have your gut lining, which is a single cell wall that protects your bloodstream from different toxins. One of the best things people can do is repair their gut lining. Here's a short list of things you can remove, some things you can put in to repair your gut lining. Processed foods just aren't that great for you, just with how much different ingredients your body has to create all these enzymes to break it down. Also removing alcohol will benefit you in every facet of life. Tap water has a lot of chlorine in it. That can damage your gut lining. You know, can also damage different species of microbes in your gut. Over the counter pain killers are also very damaging to your gut lining. And red bread has gluten, gluten has a protein called gliadin, and gliadin can tear apart the tight junctions in your gut lining. Sourdough is a much better option. Some things you can put in, 5 grams of glutamine a day. I will literally put this in my pre-workout so great at sealing the gut lining. Also taking triphala, coursetin, zinc, carnosine, all these things will help repair your gut lining. The second thing is if you have a lot of random bloating, fatigue, brain fog, I was having hair loss. It could be important to do a detox. A lot of people have some overgrowth in their GI tract causing these issues, regardless of what food you eat. If you can't handle high fiber, it's a sign that you have a bacterial overgrowth. You can see my videos on that. Also, if you have parasites, if you have fungal overgrowth, bacterial overgrowth, you will get bloated no matter what you eat. The last thing is consuming a lot of fermented foods. I'm a huge advocate of people fermenting their own food, like yogurt, kimchi, and then following, you know, a high fiber diet. If you can't handle high fiber, it's a sign that you have a bacterial overgrowth.
