Okay, here's some unpopular rules for my kids that might ruffle some people's feathers. Number one, all my kids must do a competitive sport. You're going to train hard at something that takes physical effort to work hard at every single day. Number two, there are no sleepovers at other people's houses. If you want your friends to hang out and you want to do a sleepover, they are more than welcome to have friends over and your kids are more than welcome at my house. But my kids are not going anywhere else to do a sleepover. Before phones get unlocked, my kids are required to do three things. Number one, 20 minutes of reading every single day. And this goes along with the have to read one whole book per month. So, 20 minutes of reading a day typically gets them through that one book a month. So, meaning they're going to end up reading 12 books in a year, which most people and adults even don't even read one book a year. So, like we're putting our kids well when we make them do that. Along with that, the second thing before their phones get unlocked, they have to journal. Don't know what about. We tell them to write down three things that they're grateful for for the day and a prayer for the day. The last thing they have to do to get their phone unlocked is they have to do one household chore that helps the household. Once all three of these are done, phones unlocked, the number four. If my kids fight or bicker with each other, they go put on some running shoes, a run and tell each other how much they love each other to tell each other all the positive things about each other until it's to our standard. Don't say the affirmations to our standard. Go run some more. Number six, if we catch them in a lie, they go for a long run. And that's a timed run that they will end up doing again if they don't beat that time that we set. Number seven, they get to do a five-minute cold plunge and they get a 20-minute sauna every night. And how awesome that they get a household that's focused on recovery and longevity that they have these things available to them every single day. So it's not a punishment. These are things that are gonna help them enhance their lives, improve muscle recovery, improve muscle endurance, and overall athletic performance. And they get to do these things every single day. I've kind of found that implementing this cold plunge every morning and sauna every night gives us a few minutes together as a family and especially me to reflect on our day, talk about what we enjoy some time together for things that typically comfortable, but we always feel amazing once we're done. Number eight, we all have dinner together as a family every single night. And there's no phones at the table. So everybody has to eat together. Nobody eats separately. And nobody starts eating until everyone's, we all wait for each other until we eat. Next, my kids are all required to eat a high protein, whole food diet the majority of the week. And there's no soda allowed in our house. And even when we go out to eat, my kids don't order soda, they order water unless it's a special occasion. So that's pretty rare. I typically tell my kids, hey, go drink water, add some salt, add electrolytes and put some creatine in it. That's going to get you through the day. All my kids have limited screen time and limited access to social media. And we do not do Roblox and we do not do Snapchat. Those two things are non-negotiables and they're not in our house. Come back for part two and I'll share some more unpopular rules that we in our house have for our kids in our house.
