These are some of the rules I had for my son that people tend to disagree with. You cannot walk around my house with no shirt off. I know there's a double standard, but I would not let my daughter walk around half news. So yeah, tank top, please. Let's have some respect. There's a time and a place. domestic chores + cooking, dishes, cleaning, laundry. He does not just cut the grass and take the trash out. You're gonna learn how to cook, clean up after yourself and do your own laundry. Check his room just about every day to make sure it's clean because this ain't no pigsty. And I also check that phone. Cause I need to know what's going on. Who's in there and what y'all talking about? I have an app installed that tells me what's being searched and we do have a curfew. You're not gonna be on that phone. Of course, he must open all doors. Just, especially common courtesy. Especially for men. I do allow him to experience things like driving, making his own appointments and going in the store himself so that he can develop independence. Bowling. I try not to tell him because I said so. He's allowed to speak his mind and we can have respectful disagreements. So yeah, hopefully these are good things and I don't end up in a nursing home.
