I want a third baby so so so bad. So let's do a little budgeting to see how much it's going to cost for like the first year of a newborn and like the prenatal, the delivery. All that kind of stuff to see what it's going to do to our budget to have a third baby. All right, let's start off strong with prenatal appointments, okay? In my past insurance, our copay for prenatal appointments was $25. So I'm gonna say $25 times like 12 appointments. I don't really remember how many appointments you have to go to during a pregnancy. I'm gonna say 12, okay? So that would be $300 for just appointments and stuff like that. And then another $200 for like labs, diagnostics, ultrasounds, things like that. All right, now delivery. Okay. I had one baby with a really expensive delivery and the second baby with a very cheap delivery. Okay? So I'm gonna say $5,000. That's kind of in the middle. Diapers and wipes. Okay? So newborns go through a lot of diapers and wipes. That might be more, that might be less. I don't really remember. It's been a couple of years since I've had a newborn. So I'm gonna say $1,000. That might be more, that might be less. I don't really remember. It's been a couple of years since I've had a newborn. All right, formula. I had one baby that did not do formula. My second baby did formula. Formula is really expensive. I'm gonna say $1,800. For a full year of formula. Obviously depends on what kind of brands of formula you have and if it needs to be like hypoallergenic and it's kind of depends. It's kind of depends. I'm gonna say $1,800. I feel like that's kind of a good estimate. Next, clothes. I have two boys. So if I have a girl, I need to buy all new girl clothes. You know, like it's fun to buy new baby clothes. I'm gonna say $450. Again, that might be over, might be under. I'm not really sure. It's just an estimate. Okay. Next, car seat. I've had a couple of years since I bought my car seat. I probably should buy a new infant carrier. Um, I think they're only good for a certain period of time. I think they're only good for like a certain period of time. So I'm gonna budget $250. The one that I had was like the gray co. I don't know what it was called. But it was really good. Car seats. And we really, really liked it. And I think it was only like $250. Next, a bassinet. So we used to have one, but we gave it away to somebody else. So I need to buy a new bassinet. I'm gonna say $300. I don't really remember how much bassinet's cost. You can definitely buy them very, very expensive or you can buy them more on the cheap side. I'm gonna go in the middle. I'm gonna say $300. And then the most expensive part, maternity leave. Um, it's unpaid maternity leave. I don't get paid maternity leave. It's all gonna depend on the job that I have at the time. But usually, my pay is kind of around the same. So I'm gonna say eight weeks is going to cost me $12,500. Unpaid. $12,500. All right, so all of that added up comes out to $21,800. Right now with the timing of life and everything, it doesn't quite work out with everything. But you never know. You never know. Here in the future. $21,800.
