What I've learned as a student who's tried everything at 18 & balanced it all From a freshman who's trying everything in college: - Architecture student (50+ hour projects) - Founder of app startup as a non-tech major (with 17k users) - Being a commercial model (& making 3 figures) - Writing a book with 100+ pages - Student council leader - Still going out/ having a social life - And like 100+ more side quests Say yes to everything you can but also know when to step away when something doesn't align with you I've had some of by biggest opportunities and memories by doing things that were scary and new. I found my cofounders this way and new niche spots I love! Being young is the best time to discover yourself and saying yes is the best way to do that. Try/ apply for everything even if you think you are not qualified enough Standing by your value is the most important thing, you could always learn something through the experience, and even achieve your goals. Being absolutely delusional is how I was able to do so much, like being apart of 4+ clubs, a startup, and writing my own book, all at the same time. Have a project/ vision to stand behind To give you a mission to work towards You can find people with experience or advice or mentorship, with knowledge you may never have learned otherwise & when someone asks you "what do you do?" Having a project, or goal, or venture/ vision to stand behind helps people help you Your time is your most valuable asset so spend it in ways that matter having a set schedule, being diligent with what you spend your time on is so important; spending it on building cool things, sharpening your skills, and deepening your connections will always go a long way and benefit you over short term things The connections you make now will go far so be open to meeting everyone! your network is your network, so find people who inspire you, who motivate you, and who give you joy! The people you meet now can be so important to helping you grow and connect. Don't forget how important good relationships are!
