M.A.S.K. Outlaw is the V.E.N.O.M. oil tanker that hides an entire mobile headquarters inside. 1986 Kenner Series 2 truck is packed with features. A lever raises the cab and a hidden turret pivots out, firing a fanged grappling hook that winds back in on a thumbwheel. The tank opens into a rolling command center: a howitzer with a 180 degree swivel, two firing Poison Pod shells, a tilting control panel, a sliding console cockpit, two radar scanners, and a power pack that detaches so the base runs on its own. Two agents of V.E.N.O.M. (Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem) come with it: Miles Mayhem in the Python mask, which sends out coiled tentacles to trap enemy agents, and Nash Gorey in Powerhouse, the mask that multiplies his strength. What most people don't know: photographed Kenner color guides in a collector archive show the masks under earlier names. Python started as Superscope, and Powerhouse started as Samson. Designer Alton Takeyasu says this was the first of his vehicle concepts ever to reach production. He drew it as a full 18 wheeler called the Snake Oil Tanker, and Kenner reworked it into a box truck and renamed it Outlaw. Did you run with team M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand), or were you V.E.N.O.M. all the way? #MASK #Outlaw #VintageToys #80sToys #toycollectors
