Transformers Beast Wars Rampage is the 1998 Transmetal king crab behind one of the darkest arcs in the entire franchise. This Ultra class Predacon converts three ways: king crab, robot, and a tank that rolls on rubber treads pulled from inside his own claws. He carries a Gatling cannon that fires cluster missiles, and his motto reads like a horror villain wrote it: evil is a symphony created by instruments of pain and suffering. His story is the best part. He began as Protoform X, a Maximal experiment to recreate the indestructible spark of Starscream, and it went horribly wrong. The sole survivor of what followed, a security chief named Depth Charge, spent the entire show hunting him for revenge. It ends at the bottom of the ocean in a field of raw energon, with Rampage letting go and laughing as the blade comes down, destroying them both. One detail from the research that is not in the video: this figure shipped with either orange or silver paint on the head and chest, nobody knows which version came first.
