This influencer family is homeschooling their daughter. They jumped online the other day and were like, 'Yeah, we only teach them what we want to teach them for history.' And then we also use Chat GPT to help us with lessons. Now, I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I was perfect when I was homeschooling Deja because yes, we definitely use Chat GPT to help us with lessons. But we quickly realized we were not qualified to be teaching her high school. I'm a high school dropout, so what makes me think that I can teach my daughter high school when I didn't even finish it myself? And this isn't everyone, but I feel like even parents who have graduated with struggle with their kids' homework. Now everyone is online saying how bad homeschooling is. But for us personally, we knew we didn't have the time or the energy or the knowledge to teach our daughter high school. But we also knew that Deja did need to do homeschool. And if you guys have been following us for a while, you would know that we just travel so much. So instead, she does online school, which is basically homeschool, but you have real life teachers. And sometimes she can't make those classes, so she watches the recordings. And I don't want to lie, there are definitely weeks where she does fall behind. But the great thing about online school is when she did have quiet time, she literally caught up on all her schoolwork. And to me, that is so much better than her attending regular school, us traveling and her missing out on so much school and failing. If she didn't do homeschool, she would not be traveling nearly as much. And I feel like travel is honestly the best teacher. So today we're going out to get Deja a guitar, which honestly is another great thing about homeschool. Because when we're not traveling, she has extra time to do the things that she loves, like she's literally doing guitar lessons, singing lessons, DJ lessons. She's booked and busy. I know homeschool isn't for everyone, especially for parents who are both working full time. But I also think it's unfair to say that everyone who is homeschooling is doing a bad job. And I feel like travel is honestly the best teacher.
