My mom made this strawberry cake every summer when we got out of school, so making it always brings back the sweetest childhood memories. 🍓❤️ I made the vanilla cake from scratch, but if you’re short on time, use a yellow or vanilla boxed cake mix. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking the shortcut—the strawberries are what make this dessert so special! FULL RECIPE: 1/2 cup of flour 1 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt One cup of sugar One stick of butter softened One large egg plus one egg yolk 3/4 of teaspoon of vanilla 1/2 cup +2 tablespoon tablespoons of whole milk Directions: Mixed together, the sugar, butter, egg, yolk, and vanilla. And was together the flour, baking powder and salt. Alternate adding the dry ingredients with the milk ending with the milk. Bake at 350° for about 20 to 25 minutes.
