I got... NOSE RECONSTRUCTION in Istanbul

I flew across the world to get no surgery. Let's talk about it. So I had a failed rhinoplasty 10 years ago and I came to Turkey to fix it because the surgeons and prices are elite. Today I'm headed into the private hospital my surgeon uses and I packed a bag because the first night in the hospital is included, which made me feel super confident and safe. The nurses got me prepped for surgery, put in the IV, the anesthesiologist changed me into my gown and we put on compression socks. I'm not nervous, I'm not really afraid. I'm more so afraid of the outcome that I've been thinking about for like the last six months nonstop. And I just put my trust into the doctor, let it be. The surgery was around four hours and everything went great, no complication. I woke up feeling fine. My nose was just like a little sore on the inside, but the pain went away in like an hour. My boyfriend brought me some Summer Fridays lip balm because he knows I can't stand when my lips are dry. The nurses came in and put some ice packs on my eyes. It was served some dinner. I ate very cautiously and then the nurse came in to clean my nose, check my vitals, help me go to the bathroom. But for the ones that don't, you can just use Google Translate. It was pretty easy to communicate. So I had one nurse coming in to clean my nose, check my vitals, do my IVs, and then I had another nurse that was coming in periodically to ice my face. He was gentle. I think this is why I didn't have any bruising because you're icing your face around the clock. They served me breakfast in the morning, but John brought me some stuff from the cafe because I just wanted some sweet snacks. I'm honestly feeling pretty great here. I can already breathe again, which is so amazing. And Dr. Erseline came in to check on my nose, tell me about my case. He was pretty shocked at the condition of my nose. He said my cartilage was just floating around inside of my nose without any structural support and then it would have gotten worse and worse as the years went on. So I'm really happy I did this. He built up my nose from scratch with donor cartilage and it looks so much better already. He said it was one of the most complex cases he's done this year. We were discharged around 10 AM, headed back to the hotel. I actually did pack an entire wedge pillow to bring with me because it was super crucial when I was healing from my reduction because you do have to sleep elevated and I can't not just stack pillows like a normal person because I have neck problems. So it's really just a very strict routine for cleaning my nose, doing my ointment and taking my antibiotics. A few days after the surgery, you head back into Kadikoy so that the nurse can clean out your nose, which is really nice. You can breathe a lot better. Then after the appointment, we stopped by the pharmacy, which was like a two-minute walk from the office to get some bromeline to help with the swelling. And then we stopped for a quick bite to eat at this really cute pizza place. Okay, now I'm just going to rest, stay tuned for the cast off day and the rest of post-op. Bye.
