ACL surgery DITL I wasn't even here for five minutes before they said, everything's gotta come off, including bra. Then a sassy nurse on staff was like, I don't know why they gave you this gown. This one doesn't even have a tie in the back. Let me get you a fresh. They were quick to slap the IV. In my arm, and then nothing much happened. So I decided to go to the bathroom and exercise. My last few. And I don't know how many times a surgeon has accidentally cut the wrong leg, but they took extra precaution, asking about a hundred times that it was the right leg. I did consent to the nerve block, which means things were about to get fun. Now they're putting an anti nausea patch behind my ear because I actually threw up the last time I was under anesthesia. They gave me. I'm feeling good. Fine. I like if the lights were a little lower. If this is what a Xanax feels like, I need to take it more often. Up on drugs. You be doing your wimoff. Ha. ha. Got your heart rate down to 90 97. 97 seems like too high. The surgeon then comes in and literally writes on the leg that they are doing the surgery on. If I'm being honest, I don't really have the sharpest recollection of any of these moments. I did wanna be up a little more, but now I think I'm too up. Ha. ha. You could eat anything. What would you eat right now? I would start with a nice sip of water. I actually cannot tell you how much time passed in between, but they finally came in and said, it's time. Last time I had surgery, I do not remember being conscious in the OR, but this time, I was there for, like, 30 minutes before they put me up. They asked if I had any music recommendations during the surgery, and I asked to listen to Giggly Squad. The surgery was about two hours, and when the doctor came in to give the review, she told me that my ACL was, quote, everywhere. Oh, my gosh. I got here at 9:00 AM this morning, and it is 6 PM, so it's been a full day. I think I was the last outpatient patient of the day, and I was feeling pretty good about being able to get into the car all by myself, and I don't feel any pain in this moment. So better than last time. I'm doing better than last time, so that's a win.
