What's up, besties? Can we feed our family with $1? I've been asked. We can sure try. This a hundred times. We can do. Andiamo. Some green beans. Fresh green beans. Some green beans. Okay, let's grab a potato. Red potato. Grab a ramen. We're gonna get beef ramen, $0.50. Beef flavor for 50 cents. Total $0.84. We're back. We spent 84 cents. We're gonna do our very best using the ingredients. We're not using home seasonings. It's all about technique and ingredients and techniques to put this dish together. Easy in the comments. People don't need to be reminded they have it hard right now. Some people can only afford a dollar. And if that's you, I hope it helps. What we're gonna do is open the ramen and season packet. We're gonna get a half a cup of water, empty half the packet into the water. And bring a 1 and 1/2 cups water to a boil. Empty other half in on your stove. And empty the packet in there. Bring it to a boil. Then cut the ends of green beans and remove bean off your green beans. You're gonna open up the green bean, the bean from the stalk. Removed from the stalk. I cut them up. Drop the beans into the bowl. Believe it or not, these little beans will change the entire flavor of your dish. I got my red potato. I cut into slices. I washed it, the skin on. Cut it however you like. I got a pan on the stove over medium heat. Pan on medium. Add potato to pan. Decided to cut cubes. Go cubes with my potatoes. Potatoes in there. The sizzle. When water boils, add noodle. Cook to your liking. To my ramen. And broke them into small squares. Cook it how you like it. Potatoes have been in the pan for about a minute. After about a minute, they should start to dry out, leaving starch in the pan for about a minute. Get a little bit brown. That's okay. Just around and let them dry out. Now that my potatoes dried out and all the starch is at the pan, once they're dry, add 1/4 cup flavor water to the pan. That flavor water we made. Pour 1/4 cup into the pan. So we're gonna evaporate the water till pan is dry. Let this go. Water evaporates. Once all that water evaporated, add my beans and stalks right to that very same pan. Then add the rest of the flavor water. Half of the water. I want these vegetables to absorb the flavor that we made, plus the concentrated flavor and starches at the bottom of the pan. Make sure you're scraping the bottom of the pan as that water evaporates. Water evaporates. When water is gone, let go 30 secs so outside has bite and inside stays soft. I'm gonna let about 30, want the outside of the vegetables a little bit of a bite while the inside stays soft. Hey, it's been like 40 seconds. I'm literally pulling the ramen right over into the pan. There will be some water with the noodle. Just saute it a minute. I'm gonna saute in the pan for a minute, really agitating the starches. And then we're gonna plate. And there it is. That's what for a dollar. You could add some broth. Be creative and have fun. Add what you can afford. Have left. Or it's totally up to you. A lot of broth, no broth. Make it how you like it. Fed is best!!! It was 84 cents for the meal. You don't get way too too much. Not bad for $0.84. Get two or three portions. I really hope it helps. Until next time.
