It's finally time to glaze my hydrangea mug. I've been getting DMs every single day asking for an update on this mug, which is actually a redo of a version I made two years ago that didn't go according to plan. And I'm sorry for the delay, but the truth is that you can't really fire a kiln with one single mug. Well, you can, but it can cause thermal shock and cracking, and it's just not very efficient. So I've been working as fast as I can to finish the rest of my pieces and we've officially made it through the first firing. For the glaze, I decided to keep it simple. Blue on the inside and a translucent glaze on the outside so you could still see all of the detail. I always get so nervous glazing because no matter how much time you put into a piece, there's always a bit of unpredictability into the kiln. But that's one of the reasons why Printify can be such a great option for artists who don't want to rely always perfectly on handmade pieces. You can upload your designs to products, connect Printify to your e-commerce platform and they handle the printing and shipping for you. So you can turn your artwork into products while keeping ceramics genuinely making. For me, it's always been about the process. But I am absolutely dying to see how this mug turned out. So I'll be back as soon as it's done with an update.
