By far the most magical thing about my new house is this huge private pond that's home to so much wildlife. The steps to the dock were looking pretty rough, so it was time they got a little makeover. After blowing away all the leaves and pine needles, and the peeling paint, I gave everything a good sanding. And I somehow chose to do this on the hottest day of the year, so I was dying. I decided to just go with the same color that they were originally painted, which looks purple when you first apply it, but it dries down to a nice chocolaty color. I really thought that I could get this done in one day, but of course, it took several. And we had some friends coming to visit, so it was definitely a quick fix because I did discover that some of these wood boards will need to be completely replaced. We realized the dock was sinking on one side because the wood was rotting, so moss put his waders on, got the pond and replaced them. But bless his heart. But it got it looking so much better by the time my friends came to visit, and even took the little boat out to fish for the first time.
