The Buford Corn Maze is officially being replaced by warehouses. But the good news is is this won't happen until after 2027. So you do still have two fall seasons to enjoy the corn maze. But after 2027, the city of Beaufort just approved rezoning 31 acres off of Bennett Road in order to build two new warehouses that are going to total nearly 400,000 square feet. And if you know this area, it's right off of I-95, kind of right off Friendship Road. There's already a ton of new development happening over in that area. So the corn maze has actually been in this spot since 2008. But the owners do lease. So their lease does run out at the end of 2027. And that is what has prompted the rezoning to actually get the warehouses and use the highest and best use of that land. Construction on the warehouses expected to start in early 2028. And there are no official tenants that have been announced that will be taking over this warehouse space yet. And then if you're bummed about the corn maze leaving, here's the good news. It's that the owners have announced that the beautiful corn maze will not be going away. It will just be changing over to a new location. The owners are already looking at two possible and they say they want to 100% keep it a part of this community. So the corn maze might survive. It just will not be at this location. So let us know down in the comments what your thoughts are on replacing the Beaufort Corn Maze location with two new warehouses.
