We booked everything through Airbnb for $186 USD per person and it included a 4:15 AM pickup to the town of Teotihuacan, which is about a 45 minute drive from Mexico City. They provide you with coffee and tea before the flight while they get set up. And I would definitely recommend wearing pants and layers because it is really cold this early in the morning, even in the summer. The ride itself lasts about 40 minutes and it's such a beautiful experience. If you're afraid of heights, it can be a little bit scary, but overall gorgeous. I was a little scared of the landing and I fully almost got taken out by cactus, but we made it back safe and alive. We had a little toast and got our certificates. Then they asked us if we wanted to have breakfast at La Gruta, which is a restaurant in a cave made fully out of volcanic rock. We decided to opt in and paid an extra $420 pesos per person. After breakfast, we had the option to explore the pyramids, which was another extra $230 pesos cash only. They also give you the option to have a tour guide, which is included in the price, but we decided to just walk them on our own. I would also recommend adding this on, honestly, because it is really cool to see the pyramids from above and from the ground. The tour also included a drop-off back to your Airbnb and overall, I would rate this a 10 out of 10 and I would definitely come back and do this again.
