I often get asked how I afford to travel so much, so I kind of want to do a little breakdown on how I like to budget travel. First and foremost, I'd highly recommend getting a travel credit card. I have the Chase Sapphire Preferred and I use this as my everyday card, so I rack up points really, really fast. You get 5x points on Chase Travel when you book through them, 3x on dining, 3x on vacation homes, 3x on gas and EV charging, 2x on travel, 3x points on online grocery purchases, 3x points on top streaming services, 5x points on Lyft rides, 10x points on Faze purchases, 5x total points on Peloton, and 10% Anniversary Points Bonus. You can save so much money and also use those points towards flights and hotels. I've gotten so many free or discounted flights with this card. I do have a referral link in my bio, this is not sponsored, but if you want to check it out, I'd highly recommend. Next is booking hostels. And I know hostels aren't for everybody, but unfortunately, accommodation are usually the most expensive thing when I'm traveling besides the flight. So booking hostels saves me hundreds of dollars. Two years ago, I did a workaway with Worldpackers. I got to live in the Netherlands for an entire month in exchange for a couple hours of work a day. All I had to do was clean, make a couple beds and cook sometimes. All in exchange for a free stay and free breakfast. Next, if I'm traveling for a longer period of time, I try my best to go to the grocery store first thing and try and cook all my meals instead of eating out every single day. Next is being flexible. And I know obviously not everyone has the opportunity to be flexible, but if you do, then I highly recommend going to destinations when it's off-season because you can save a ton of money on flights and hotels. Another example, if you want to go to Greece, we already know Mykonos and Santorini are probably the most expensive islands. So instead of choosing one of those, you can choose to go to Paros, Greece instead. I've been to that island myself. It's so beautiful and so much more affordable. Another example, if you want to go to Croatia, I'd pick Albania instead. I want to do an entire separate video on Albania because that country I think is my favorite country I've ever been to. So I highly recommend going there as well. That's kind of most of the things that I do to budget travel. If you have any questions, let me know and happy travels. Next is using apps like Airclub or Skyscanner. And this kind of falls into being flexible because on these apps, it's going to shoot out a lot of really cheap flights, but a lot of these flights are again, either off-season or you're going to get really weird and long layovers. So if you're up for that, then again, you can save hundreds of dollars. Last but not least, I always say expand your horizons. For example, if you decide to go to Greece, Mykonos and Santorini are probably the most expensive islands. So instead of choosing one of those, you can choose to go to Paros, Greece instead. I've been to that island myself. It's so beautiful and so much more affordable. Another example, if you want to go to Croatia, I'd pick Albania instead.
