Ever since I started to use sulfur and aquafor on my face, I won't be going back. Yeah, sulfur can do that. But enough people are using sulfur in their skin care and the people who are using it are not using it the right way. If you are acne prone, rosacea prone, fungal acne prone, perioral dermatitis prone, and your skin is super sensitive, chances are you could benefit from sulfur. It's very gentle on the skin and can be tolerated by most people, but here's how you actually use it so that it works. I personally like sulfur in cleanser form and this product from Kate Somerville is a great starting product with 3% sulfur. And either in the morning or at night, you're going to want to take like a good amount of it like this. You're going to cleanse and lather it kind of all over your face like this. Now, where most people go wrong is that after they do this, they cleanse it off immediately like a normal cleanser. Eh, you don't want to do this. You actually want to let it sit on your face as a mask for 3-5 minutes while you do other things like chores or brushing your teeth so that your skin can actually get the benefits of that sulfur treatment. Then you can rinse it off and follow up with the rest of your routine. Since it's gentle, sulfur can be used with pretty much any other skin care ingredient that you want to use it with, provided that you tolerate it. But let me know if you have used sulfur before and what your favorite product is.
