Some people have been saying there's a link between rape culture and pro AI, tech bros. I was kind of like, I didn't quite understand that until today. If you didn't know Cara is this website that is explicitly anti AI, a place where artists, I think it's specifically photographers can go to upload their work and like have AI protections and all that stuff. It's literally like a safe space against generative AI, against scraping etc. And someone on Reddit was gloating about it. Scraped it. And it's not even that they're scraping the internet for images to feed into a generative AI. It is that they are explicitly going into a place, a website where people have said, we don't want anything to do with generative AI. We do not want our work scraped, consent to that. That's the place they're going to scrape images. And if you read the comments on that subreddit, that this guy was bragging about, it's truly disturbing how they're saying consent isn't necessarily valid. It's like it doesn't matter. Want your shit scraped, don't post it on the internet, just all that creepy victim blaming bullshit anyway. Anyway, for people wondering why people hate generative AI and those who support generative AI in any and all of its functions, this is why. Because even if you're only using it for fun, just to like create personal images for personal use, this is the shit you are supporting. Every time you generate an image for whatever purpose, I don't care how good your intentions are, you support this shit. Generative AI is using generative AI in any capacity is theft. This shit is why people are losing their faith, the way.
