What I wish I knew about Accutane Accutane is expensive well the actual medication isn't It's around $30 but every time I go to the dermatologist they charge me $250 just to talk to the doctor. You can't drink alcohol on the medication. So you need to decide whether you want to have an alcoholic drink on a Saturday night or have clear skin because you can get major liver damage from having alcohol. You also can't get pregnant I've heard some dermatologists require their patients to do monthly pregnancy test to make sure that they're not having a baby. And don't look up accutane babies. You don't wanna see what they look like. You also have to get monthly blood test. So if you don't like needles, then accutane might not be for you. When I started getting acne I thought I could just go and accutane straight away but that is not how it works Accutane is typically the last resort So I started with benzac then tretinoin and then minocycline which is an antibiotic and when all of that didn't work then I got prescribed to a dermatologist Lastly accutane can give you clear skin but it's not gonna get rid of your acne scars You'll have to go through other treatment if you want them gone.
