I have been living my means for way too long now and I am paying for it literally. The truth of it is all because of desire to have more and keep up with trends and get the next best seasonal, the next best outfit and the next best vacation. Like I am constantly striving for more. I think a huge issue for a lot of us is social media and this constant pressure to keep up. I am exhausted. I was having a really deep conversation with my sister about this the other day, like I live beyond my means. I am a stay-at-home mom that is hustling so freaking hard to turn this whole thing into a career, but I'm not quite there yet, okay? I've made $20,000 this year. I'm really proud of that, but that's not enough to live the way that I have been living. And yes, the biggest advocate for life is too short, you know, go on that trip, girl, go do this, go do that to an extent. And I think the solution is one, follow accounts that make you feel like you don't need more. Cater your feeds to like less overconsumption. It's chic to save money. It's chic to live within our means. It's chic to reuse and recycle, to appreciate the things. I can guarantee the things that you use and love day-to-day are probably items that you've owned for a long time, maybe didn't cost that much. We just need to consume less. It's chic to save money. It's chic to live within our means. It's chic to reuse and recycle, to appreciate the small things.
