How I spend my "influencer money"

How I spend my "influencer money" $250,000 that they were expecting to make. I'll tell you what we did. I don't know if this is 100% accurate, speaking from experience, this is what we've done with our money since I have started making money from social media. Let's be honest, everyone is nosy, everyone likes hearing about other people's finances. So, let's get into it. Very first thing we did was pay down all of our credit card and car debt, which felt like an elephant stepping off of my chest to be completely honest with you. Last year in particular, we overspent on home renovations and a trip to California. That debt was just lingering over our heads and so this year we've been able to pay all that off, which has been amazing. We've been able to keep two months of living expenses in our checking account and then we've saved up six months of living expenses in a savings and investment account. Both my husband and I contribute to retirement accounts. This year I started working with a CPA which has been really nice to take some of that mental pressure off. And anytime I get paid from social media brand deals or affiliate or any kind of payout, I set aside 30% of that payout for taxes. Obviously the hope is that our tax payment will be less than that, but I'd rather be on the conservative side and save too much rather than not enough and have to fork out a bunch of money when taxes are due. And then lastly, this is a fun one, we are going to Italy in September as a couple. We haven't been on any big trips as a couple since our honeymoon. And so even just being able to do this for ourselves before we settle down and start a family is just very rewarding and exciting. More than anything, the biggest thing I'm thankful for is just having that emergency fund. There were plenty of times in our first two years of marriage where our account was overdrawn, we were living paycheck to paycheck while also being bogged down by so much credit card debt that I brought into our marriage. So being able to get out of that situation and be in a much better place financially has just been such a freaking blessing. So that is where all my influencer money has gone to.
