one of the hardest things ever is getting over someone you didn't even date because you romanticize the potential of what it could have been so deeply and you kind of created a relationship in your head, but it was never real. so it hurts even worse because you constantly think of what it could have been. anyways, these are some ways that I've gotten over these things and I wanna share them with you. the first one is actually the most important one. but stop giving them tiny ways to stay in your life. whether it's saying yes, to hanging out in even a group setting, or responding to text messages, answering phone calls. this is all inching them back in your life. every single conversation you have with this person is going to re spark that connection and re wire your brain to keep romanticising the potential of nothing. realising that the reason why you guys aren't together is not a personal issue, it is probably the other person's issue. if you wanted it more than they wanted it, because they probably weren't ready for a relationship. or you guys just maybe weren't meant to be together. and you have to know that something better is always gonna be there. think about how many humans are in the world remembering how they made you feel, not just how much you liked them. sometimes you can like someone so much and your crush on them makes everything seem better than it actually is. when in reality, they aren't even giving you a fraction of what you deserve in a relationship. and you have to remember that. you gotta remember the bare minimum is not what we're settling for. and last but not least, stop looking for closure. the closure that you have for yourself is their inconsistency, their lack of communication, their failure to commit or create anything with you or give you what you deserved. that is your closure. and that should be able to shut the door completely. even though we all kind of want that verbal closure, you already have it there.
