Okay here is the top 20 fantasy series of all time ranked in the most objective way possible. Urban fantasy books by Steven P Aitchison. Series 1 - The Witches of Scotland: The Arabic Chronicles. Series 2 - The Witches of Scotland: The Edinburgh Files. Series 3 - The Witches of Scotland Romance Series. My name is Steven Aitchison. I'm the author of The Witches of Scotland series and I do daily book and audiobook recommendations on here now. You're gonna want to bookmark this video 100% because there's gonna be loads of comments about this top 20 ranking system. And this is video number one of two. So give me a follow as well to get the second video. So the way I've done this is I've ranked each series on Goodreads the total ratings of every single book in the series, the average ratings per book in that series. Third way I rank it is to rate the average star ratings across every single book in the series. So each category counts equally and the three rankings are combined to give a composite score of each of the three rankings I've done. If you want a further explanation, let me know in the comments, okay? What I've also done is taken out romantasy altogether. I think that deserves a different category or different genre altogether. So I don't think it fits into the fantasy genre as such. So straight on with it. No.20 on the list is Ursula Le Guin's Earthsea Cycle. There's six books in that series and it's got 777,000 ratings with an average star rating of 4.11, giving it a composite score of 17.33. No.19 is a Graceling Realm by Kristen Cashore. There are five books in that series and it's got 832,000 ratings on Goodreads and an average star rating of 4.04, given a composite score of fifteen. No. 18. The next series is a Gentleman Bastard series by Scott Lynch. The Lies of Locke Lamora. That got three books in the series, 647,000 ratings on Goodreads. The average star rating is 4.25 with a composite score of fifteen. No. 17 is An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. She's got four books in the series, 785,000 ratings on Goodreads, an average of 4.2 one star rating with a composite score of fifteen. No.16 on the list is the Broken Earth series by NK Jemisin. Three books in the series with 730,000 ratings overall on Goodreads with an average star rating of 4.3 and a composite score of 13.67. No. 15 is Discworld, which a lot of you said in the last video as well, should be on it. That's of course by Terry Pratchett. Now there's 41 books in that series and the total ratings is 3.97 million with an average star rating of 4.14, given a composite score of 12.67. No. 14 on the list is the First Law by Joe Abercrombie. Three books in that series, 779,000 ratings, average rating 4.32 with a composite score of 12.33. No. 13 on the list a lot of you mentioned this series, the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb. This got three books in the series with 913,000 ratings on Goodreads, an average of 4.2 four star rating for each book with a composite score of 12.33. No. 12 is Leah Bardugo's Shadow and Bone. Three books in the series with 2.45 million ratings on Goodreads, an average star rating of 3.89 and a composite score of 11.67. And no. 11 the last one on this list for this video is the Poppy War by R F Kuang.
