if you have this or pink marks left behind after a breakout you're probably dealing with PIE Post Inflammatory Erythema Think of it like a tiny wound caused by inflammation that affects the blood vessels but your skin is still dealing with the aftermath so, what actually helps it fade? Here are the 4 things I would focus on 1. Focus on repairing your skin barrier PIE is related to inflammation so using a lot of exfoliating acids STOP OVER-EXFOLIATING!!! or strong actives isn't necessarily going to make it disappear faster so instead focus on calming and repairing your skin FIRST! I love ingredients like Centella Asiatica Ceramides Panthenol which can help soothe the skin and support your skin barrier 2. Use ingredients that can help fade the marks some of the ones I would look for are Azelaic Acid Niacinamide Tranexamic Acid Retinoids but you absolutely do not need to use all four at once pick 1 or 2 that work with your routine and introduce them gradually 3. Sunscreen the most important step! if you are not protecting those marks from sun exposure daily use of spf no spf you're making it much harder for them to fade so, SPF 50 every morning is non negotiable for me last but not least 4. Be patient this is probably the most annoying part but PIE can take weeks or even months to fade before a month later so you're not going to wake up after three days and suddenly have completely clear skin so the goal is to reduce inflammation protect your skin and use the right ingredients consistently give your skin time to heal I will leave some product recommendations in the caption to help you get started follow me for more <3
